Homemade Trail Mix Recipe

Hello my hungry friends,

Our family loves being outdoors, whether we’re riding bikes, canoeing in a lake, or just having a picnic…we just love the feeling of fresh air.

In most cases I always pack us a pretty full bag of healthy snacks and infused water and herbal teas. One of my favorite snacks to include has always been trail mixes, and even more lately has been homemade trail mix.

Trail mixes can range from super nutty to super fruity and in some cases, super chocolatey. The thing I love about making my own trail mix is, obviously, getting to choose how much of what goes into the jar. This trail mix includes, 
Nuts giving me protein, fiber, antioxidants & yes, healthy unsaturated fats as well as other vitamins and minerals. 
Seeds also giving me the above as well as omega-3s including alpha-linolenic acid, lignin’s, and other vitamins and minerals
Dried Fruits great source of antioxidants, fiber, vitamins and other minerals
Sweets to help sweeten my mix up a bit I added cacao nibs but they are also packed with nutrients such as vitamin c, antioxidants, iron and other minerals

I like using air tight glass jars to store my trail mixes in to prevent my nuts going rancid and to prevent any other spoilage. Today I am using a 250 mL glass screw top jar from Infinity Jars because I am planning on gifting this to Shane for Father’s Day. I love these sleek and beautiful black jars from that Infinity Jars offers not only for their look but also, compared to amber tinted jars and clear jars, the Infinity Jars were able to keep their contents fresher & less damaged for a much longer amount of time.

  1. 4 tbsp Cashews
  2. 3 tbsp Pistachios
  3. 2 tbsp Pumpkin Seeds
  4. 2 tsp Flax Seeds
  5. 1 tbsp Golden Raisins
  6. 2 tbsp Goji Berries
  7. 2 tbsp Mulberries
  8. 2 tbsp Coconut Smiles
  9. 1 tbsp Cacao Nibs
  1. Mix all ingredients together and add into jar, eat & enjoy
