Resources for Bloggers & Harmonic Wellness Seekers

I have received quite a few emails inquiring about certain products and services that I use and trust with my blog, so I decided to make a list of my favorite ones! Below is a list of specific products that I use to enhance my blog as well as products my family uses in their everyday life. Many of these products are mentioned in multiple posts, so keep that in mind next time you’re wondering where I get a specific product.

I will continue to add to this list as I come across future resources that are helpful in running a blog or even living a harmonious healthy lifestyle. Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions about any of the items listed below!

Disclaimer: Please note that some of these links are affiliate links from amazon and other companies, meaning that I will earn a commission if you purchase through those links. Like I mentioned above, I will only be linking to products and services that I personally use and trust, and there is no add cost to you. Thank you so much for checking out my resources page & good luck on your blogging or wellness journey!

Resources

Evernote

This is a tool I use EVERYDAY. Evernote is great for storing future posts, notes for future studies and even clipping online articles for offline use. I know many bloggers who use different tools for their organization, but time and time again I keep coming back to evernote.

Elegant Themes

With over 261,000 clients, Elegant Themes compiles 87 amazing themes into 1 price. Although I use to design my own themes, I finally decided to give in and let the experts handle my design. They also offer very sophisticated plugins for blogs, I highly recommend the Monarch Social Sharing Plugin and Bloom Plugin along with the Divi theme.

WebHostingPad

WebHostingPad has been my hosting company since the very beginning ofOm Livin’. So far they have offered great customer service along with great pricing. Getting my blog started was extremely easy and unlike GoDaddy (which I’m not a fan of) they use CPanel, which is very easy to work on.

Wordpress

WordPress is what my blog is ran on and I absolutely love it. There are so many compatible plugins and themes that make this one of the best places for a blogger to be. Using my CPanel, I was easily able to install wordpress to my website. From there I just log into my wordpress account and am taken to my dashboard….which I have made purple 🙂

VaultPress

Vault press is what I used to back up my Om Livin’ wordpress site. They backup your blog every single day, so incase anything ever happens where I wake up one morning and some horribly mean hearted hacker wipes out my site, or just it happens on it’s own..I feel safe knowing that I can always contact them for a backup.

Wordfence

Remember me talking about some hacker getting into my site? Well with Wordfence that’s very unlikely that it will happen. They are a great security plugin for wordpress and is who I trust to defend my site. I am currently using their premium feature, which allows for more options to secure my site. I have recently been aware that a lot of people are trying to hack into Om Livin’ and with Wordfence, I am able to lock them out for up to 90 days if they use the wrong login information. There is much more to this plugin and if you’re starting to gain content I highly suggest you check them out for your blog.

Adobe Illustrator

Illustrator is what I use for when designing images, my logo and much more. Truly an incredible tool but more geared towards designers. They too offer a monthly membership.

Adobe Photoshop

Photoshop is an amazing tool for bloggers, especially bloggers who can’t afford nice cameras. Although Photoshop is not cheap itself, they do offer a monthly membership for those who simply cannot afford the full price.

Tasty Food Photography eBook

Along with my camera, this book has really helped me to grasp the concept of food photography. A photo is worth a thousand words pins and in the world of blogging, a pin is everything! This book helps to teach the fundamentals along with tips and tricks of becoming a food photographer. Lindsay and her husband, Bjork, have done so much for bloggers with their income reports and their food blogger pro membership. You should defiantly check them out if you are starting a blog or wanting to start making money off of your blog, plus there are some amazingly delicious recipes on her blog!

Canon EOS 600D

I purchased a Canon EOS 600D a little less than a year ago and I can tell you, that it has made a HUGE difference in image quality! A good camera is a must for bloggers. This camera is great for beginners who are looking at getting into photography. I hope to update to the Canon EOS 6D once I get all my manual settings down to a T and obviously can afford to invest in one.

Tamron SP AF 17-50mm F/2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF) Lens

This is an amazing lens that allows me to shoot close up shots of food as well as scenery shots with a little bit of yoga mixed in! Also, Shane’s BMX and Ava’s toddler self!

Berkey Water filters

Water is an such a valuable resource. Make sure you’re drinking, cooking and showering with the the purest water there is. Om Livin’ has done much research in this field and is most satisfied with the Berkey Filters. I currently have the Travel Berkey Water Filter with 2 Fluoride Filters and plan on upgrading to the Big Berkey soon!

Himalayan Salt Lamp

These Salt lamps are great for filtering the inside of your home, which is 10 times more polluted than the air in your backyard. To ensure safe air quality have a few of these guys throughout your home.

Berkey Shower Filter

We also love the Berkey Shower Filter to make sure our children are bathing in pure chemical-free water. Your body soaks up chemicals very quickly, so make sure they are soaking up the least amount possible.

Rose Quartz Lamp

Rose Quartz is a high energy quartz that enhances unconditional love (platonic love, love of thyself, and romantic love).  This crystal is also known to open the heart chakra. Replace this rose quartz lamp for a lamp in your bedroom and experience it’s positive energy!
