Throat Chakra & Plow Pose (Halasana)

by | Mar 3, 2014 | Chakras, Yoga, Yoga & Meditation

I apologize for the image quality. It’s snowing outside & no one is home, so I had to use my computer.  Oh the life of a blogger…

This is a pose I do quite often, even when I’m not even doing yoga I will be in this pose…it’s an instant back reliever for me & how can it not be??

When sitting in Halasana you are able to increase the circulation in your spine which also releases the tension in the shoulders, neck & throat. Halasana also strengthens your breath as well as respiratory system, while also putting you in relaxation mode.

This pose is good for those with digestive problems, UTIs, hypertension, writers block, sinus problems and of course the need to stretch your back. There are many different variations of this pose, however the image above is my favorite way.

This pose is not recommended in front of a toddler, they will try to push you over! ha!

Namaste Readers,

Today is our Meditation Monday!

Wow, we are more than halfway through our chakra introduction now, I hope that you are learning some new ways about how to get more in touch with your higher self. Which chakra has been the most interesting to you so far? Have you noticed that any of your chakras are blocked or unbalanced?

Throat Chakra (Vishudda)

Weekly Asanas: Plow Pose (Halasana):

This week we are on the fifth energy center or chakra also known as your Throat Chakra {Vishudda} & I bet you can guess where this chakra is located.

This energy center is associated with the color blue & focuses on communication as well as creativity, how well you express yourself. Meditate on “I SPEAK“. Communication not only consists of talking, but listening as well! There are plenty of people out there that talk way too much as well as those that hardly say a word, these people have malfunctioning throat chakras. Speaking up not only through words but through:

  • dancing
  • singing
  • painting
  • drawing
  • graphic work
  • photography
  • etc.

Speak your dreams & opinions the best way you know how. Don’t be afraid of what others might think or say, this is your life & you were put here for a reason…some reason.

What ever it is that you feel drawn to go with it at full force, the universe will take you where you need to go from there! Listening and really hearing what others have to say is just as important in this chakra. I am always amazed at people’s artistic abilities and how creative some woman are on pinterest….I mean really some of the things on there I would have NEVER thought of! So many people have things to say and show this world, we just need to be there to listen. Are you listening to those around you?

This chakra..I would say…is one of the most important ones for a relationship to properly work. Being able to communicate well is such an amazing thing in a romance. Talking to your loved one about your feelings and listening to their thoughts, that’s the closest you can get to them without actually being in their heads! Sex is nice but getting in touch with each other’s souls …ohh that’s sexy! ❤❤❤

Now enough about sex lets get to our pose…plow pose…{hehe} ok seriously enough about sex now….
